BEACH Hotel suffered their second Newcastle City and Suburban loss in as many weeks when Phoenix Sports scored a comfortable win yesterday at Connolly Park.
Phoenix Sports scored 9-173 as Chris Malone (48) led the way. Brad Davies 3-39 was the best for Beach Hotel, who could manage only 114 in reply.Scott Howard (30) and Davies (20) offered the only resistance as Sean Eastham (3-18) did the damage.Beach Hotel, who lost to Seven Seas last week, were unbeaten before the back-to-back defeats.Meanwhile, John Collinson scored an unbeaten 94 to lift Lambton Bowling Club (7-178) past Seven Seas (177) at No.2 Sportsground.Colin Hinshelwood scored 73 not out for Seven Seas.The return of Brett Macaulay was not enough to give Elliotts Lambton the points against Cardiff Panthers at Islington Oval. Macaulay scored 83 in Elliotts Lambton's 158. John Hole (5-22) and Warren Holding (3-39) featured with the ball. Cardiff then made 7-159, led by top-scorer Darren Cousins (76).Dora Creek Workers (2-129) defeated Warners Bay (127) at Seaman Avenue Oval.
