Police Hunt For Armed Robber

A MAN befriended a fellow hotel patron before following him outside and robbing him at knifepoint yesterday.
Lake Macquarie detectives have issued security film of a man wanted over the robbery in Powell Street, Charlestown.Police said the victim had left the nearby Mattara Hotel before being confronted by the man about 11.30am.Both had been drinking at the pub before the attack.The offender is described as being about 35 years old, 183 centimetres tall and with a grey and black goatee beard.He was wearing a black cap and a blue and white tracksuit jumper and was last seen running south along Chapman Street, Charlestown, about 11.45am.Information should be forwarded to Charlestown police station on 4942 9999.
